Job Overview: We are seeking a technically accomplished and visionary Senior Development Metallurgist to lead strategic research and development projects and mentor a team of junior metallurgists. Based in Perth, this full-time role is pivotal in advancing our proprietary Glycine Leaching Technology (GLT) and differentiating it from traditional cyanidation processes. You will play a key role in managing large-scale testwork programs, guiding scientific reporting, and supporting the commercialization of innovative gold processing technologies. This role reports directly to the Global GLT Metallurgy Manager and is integral to our mission of revolutionizing gold extraction through safer, more sustainable solutions. Key Accountabilities: Oversee planning, execution, and reporting of internal and external testwork programs. Review and approve technical proposals, reports, and presentations. Provide mentorship in budgeting, scheduling, and scientific best practices. Identify and capture innovations for potential patenting. Support the Customer Facing Team by addressing technical gaps and enabling commercialization. Ensure safety and compliance in all testing activities. Knowledge & Experience Requirements: Education: PhD preferred, or a Master of Science in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related field. Experience: 10 years across mine sites, laboratories, and corporate environments, with a strong background in hydrometallurgy and gold leaching technologies. Professional Memberships: Member of AUSIMM or Engineers Australia. Technical Competencies: Expertise in hydrometallurgical testwork, leaching technologies and specifically gold leaching. Advanced statistical analysis. Strong project management and scientific writing skills. Ability to critically review and improve testwork methodologies. Leadership & Behavioral Competencies: Strong people management and mentoring capabilities. Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. Creative problem-solver with initiative and attention to detail. Skilled in time management and cross-functional collaboration.
