About the team The NSW Government Brand, Advertising and Engagement team at the Department of Customer Service leads, delivers and reviews all-of-government brand, engagement and advertising strategies, policies, programs and services to meet government objectives and priorities. The Communications Policy & Education team supports this objective by providing clear All-of-Government advertising and engagement policy, guidance and training to build capability and best practice. Key focus areas include NSW Government Advertising Act 2011, Multicultural and Aboriginal Advertising Policy, engagement with multicultural & Aboriginal communities, digital and social advertising, communications with people with a disability. As the Senior Advisor, Diverse Communications, you’ll be responsible for programs of work that support this objective, with a specific focus on effectively reaching diverse communities. In this role you will: Support government agencies to deliver inclusive, culturally responsive communications across Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned (PESO) channels. Provide expert advice and practical guidance to help agencies meet policy objectives and engage meaningfully with diverse communities. Collaborate with stakeholders across government, industry and community to build capability and drive best practice. Use data and insights to inform strategy, improve outcomes, and support continuous improvement. Contribute to systems, tools and resources that help agencies evaluate and strengthen their communications. What we’re looking for: A strategic thinker who can influence and support others in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment A passionate advocate for inclusive communication, with a strong understanding of the needs of multicultural, Aboriginal and other diverse communities. A skilled collaborator with experience working across government, community and media sectors Deep knowledge of NSW’s diverse communications landscape, including effective segmentation and targeting strategies.
