SafeWork NSW is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as a State Inspector within the Regulatory Assurance and Reviewable Decisions team. This is a unique opportunity to lead complex inspections, investigations, and compliance activities that directly contribute to reducing harm and improving work health and safety outcomes across the state. You’ll work with industry, community, and government stakeholders to deliver expert advice, education, and regulatory services. What you’ll do: Lead multifaceted workplace inspections, investigations, and audits Respond to serious incidents and participate in emergency response services Undertake internal reviews of often complex matters within legislated timeframes Develop and deliver presentations, workshops, and advisory services to influence WHS outcomes Develop and conduct strategically aligned assurance activities against process and practice to identify continual improvement strategies that include achievable recommendations Represent SafeWork NSW as a technical specialist at state and national levels What we’re looking for: Advanced knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory frameworks including around workplace psychosocial matters. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Advanced written communication skills. Ability to manage complex technical issues and provide expert advice within tight timeframes. A proactive, collaborative approach to improving safety outcomes Essential requirements: Willingness to travel across NSW and occasionally interstate Current NSW driver’s licence and safe driving record ( Please note: Prior to progressing to the interview stage, you will be required to provide a copy of your current driving record, which can be purchased from Service NSW.) Satisfactory criminal record and medical assessments Willingness to undertake mandatory probity screening Willingness to obtain the Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection) if not already held and an Advanced Diploma of Government (within 2 years from commencing) Why join us?
