What We’re Looking For : The Project Engineer role is part of the Infrastructure Project Delivery Team within the Infrastructure Services Group. The Branch is committed to developing and implementing optimal asset management approaches to maximise asset reliability, performance, availability and resilience enabling business outcomes. There are two positions available, one role is ongoing and one role is for a maximum 2 year appointment, this process will be used to recruit to both positions. About this role: This role has primary responsibility for assisting in the delivery of projects to meet all associated key performance indicators. You will be required to: Assist the project manager through the conception, planning, delivery and finalisation phases of mixed discipline municipal water and wastewater projects. Manage the planning horizon for each project as directed (usually a 3 – 6 month horizon). Ensure the management, quality and record systems are adhered to. Provide considered and documented options analysis and recommendations to the project manager in a timely and accurate manner for resolution. Actively participate and promote health, safety, quality and environment management within Icon Water. Assist the Project Manager to undertake assessment of contractor works and project evaluation and provide considered and concise recommendations and reports. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to obtain necessary project approvals and ensure a collaborative approach to operational handover and commissioning. Assist with the preparing of project documentation and business cases Who we are looking for: We’re seeking a dedicated individual who Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering and knowledge of project management methodologies in line with the project management body of knowledge (PMBOK). You will also need: Experience in the engineering, materials and applicable standards for hydraulic structures related to municipal water supply and sewerage facilities. Demonstrated experience in projects completed on time and on budget. Knowledge of and experience in, gaining statutory approvals for projects and a familiarity with ACT and NSW Legislation including the Environmental Protection Act. Knowledge of Australian Standard Contracts, the Trades Practices Act and procurement guidelines. Accreditation in confined space, working at heights and (mandatory) asbestos awareness training is favoured. Experience in preparation of contractual documentation including tender documents, specifications, scopes, standards, briefs, reports, RFI’s, Variations, budgets and schedules.
