Job R ef: 1671804 Locum Sonographer Location: Portland, Victoria Hourly pay rate: Competitive hourly rates DOE Date and Duration: 5th January 2026 for 6 to 12 months Job Summary We are seeking a locum ASAR Registered Sonographer to join Portland District Health from 5th January 2026 for an ongoing (6 - 12 months) locum. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include: Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and Pathology A 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for emergency treatment Residential aged care for 30 residents at Harbourside Lodge An extensive range of primary and community services for the local community PDH delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290, and has an active volunteer workforce. The People and Culture Unit sits within the Corporate Services Directorate, with other Units including Finance, Building Services, Food Services, Environmental Services, Executive Support, Administration and Health Information. (credit: Portland District Hospital) About the role Monday to Friday role with no on-call (80 hours per fortnight) Hospital setting, mixed workload of inpatients/outpatients Mixed case load General, vascular, MSK, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, small parts, 30–60-minute scan times, scheduled breaks Team setting, working with two qualified sonographers within the General radiology department Equipment: Total of 3 Ultrasound rooms- Two Philips EPIQ ELITES, One Philips ELITE Radiologists available during work hours Skills & Experience: Post graduate qualification in ultrasound (e.g. DMU or university graduate diploma) Proficient in General, vascular, MSK, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, small parts Australian Sonographer Association Registry (ASAR) Registration Collaborative team player with excellent time management, communication skills and professionalism 5 years post graduate experience (desirable) Other requirements: Current employee police check Current Working with Children Check Current evidence of immunisation history and serology results Current Victorian Drivers Licence Benefits: Shared accommodation offered $200 towards travel support Monday to Friday role, weekends free to explore the region Weekly pay Work with a supportive agency, with 24/7 support About Aussie Locums At Aussie Locums, over 90% of our healthcare clients and professionals trust us repeatedly, making repeat business the cornerstone of our success.
