Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant providing first-rate assistance to an absolutely delightful Partner in the fast-paced and busy Defendant practice area of Common Law (Statutory Benefits). Drawing on your advanced Personal Injury Legal Assistant skills gained from working in a private practice law firm (either defendant or plaintiff), you will bring to the table a sound understanding of the Court procedures within the Victorian Law Courts, enabling you to assist with your authors' varied caseload. Part of this role will see you assuming paralegal responsibilities whereby your will be supporting a Partner who will heavily be relying on you to assist with the management of the practice. As a proactive person who takes a methodical approach to your work and, in the fast paced environment of personal injury litigation, you thrive when working under pressure and have the ability to think on your feet when the heat is on. The day to day duties of this role will see you responsible for preparing files for hearings, liaising with medical authorities and expert witnesses, diary management (including diarising important dates and arranging appointments); drafting letters and Court documents with limited supervision; preparing Briefs for Counsel; general file management.
