Provide medical leadership to a workforce of over 458 FTE across our regional and remote network of over 20 facilities. Lead a sustainable medical workforce by overseeing the vital functions of medical workforce recruitment, training and education. Build internal and external partnerships across other hospital and health services, the Department of Health, primary care networks and the private sector. Health Service Central Queensland Health delivers public healthcare across regional, rural and remote Central Queensland through hospitals, multipurpose health services, aged care services and community clinics. Our services include oral health care, specialist care, outpatient clinics, mental health, sexual health, aged care, general surgery and more. Our dedicated team of over 4,500 staff provide high-quality care to a growing population of more than 250,000 people across 115,000 km² of bushland and coastline. Rockhampton Hospital is the region’s major referral hospital, offering a wide range of specialty services at Clinical Service Capability Framework (CSCF) levels 4 and 5. Facilities in Gladstone, Emerald and Biloela provide specialty services at CSCF levels 2 and 3. Across rural Central Queensland, multipurpose health services and outpatient clinics deliver essential services such as emergency care, general medicine, primary health and aged care at CSCF levels 1 and 2. The Location Working out of Rockhampton, the Beef Capital of Australia and economic heart of Central Queensland, you’ll join a population of over 80,000 residents living up life in over 300 days of sunshine. You’ll also be afforded your choice of lifestyle spanning city, beach, and bush landscapes, with plenty of room to breathe! Essential Criteria An MBBS or equivalent to enable registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and Fellowship with an Australian Medical Specialist College is mandatory. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) is highly desirable for this role however not mandated. The ability to work in a clinical capacity (0.2 FE) in your recognised specialty with the Central Queensland Health would be highly desirable. Current ALS certification and enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies is mandatory. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the Senior Medical/ DMS on call roster. The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice. There is a system of review and renewal of credentials and Scope of Clinical Practice for Specialists and Non-specialist Senior Medical Officers on staff. This is reviewed on a three-yearly basis. The Package Total package up to $543,581 p.a. Additional benefits to this role include: Medical Managers Allowance / Clinical Managers allowance is payable dependent upon incumbent’s qualifications. Professional Development Leave – 3.6 weeks p.a. Professional Development Allowance - $21,500 p.a.
