We're seeking an Assistant Commissioner to lead the Strategic Communications and Engagement Group, supporting the Productivity Commission (PC) Chair in a busy public facing role, working with PC policy and reporting teams producing a steady stream of high profile, influential reports and leading a team of professionals. The key duties of the position include Leading and managing the operations of the Strategic Communications and Engagement Group, to ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality and timely communication products and services (both strategic and operational). Quality assurance on reports and other outputs to ensure our communication and engagement activities represent best practice, are effective in informing and influencing policy, and promote the involvement in, and awareness of, our work across the broader community. Provide evidence-based strategic communication and engagement advice and direction to the Chair and Commissioners; and Contribute to senior leadership team of PC to help drive and deliver the PC's strategic directions and priorities. About you You excel as an inclusive leader, effectively manage deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities. You take initiative, thrive both independently and in teams, and bring strong collaboration skills. You bring: Experience, at a senior level, in communication and stakeholder engagement roles across the public, not for profit, or private sector, including leading a team of communications, media, and publications experts. Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, engagement, public relations, journalism or public policy. Strong understanding of public policy and broader social, economic and environmental issues, along with sound judgement for high-level decisions, complex issue management, and quality advice. The ability to contribute to the broader corporate culture working as part of a senior management team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience across the Integrated Leadership System (ILS) SES B1 profile .
