About the Role We are currently seeking a dedicated and energetic Secondary Sports Assistant to join our team and contribute to the success of our Sport and Physical Education programs. The position will primarily provide staffing support for the effective operations of the College’s Sport and Physical Education programs. Duties can extend to assistance with other programs and events such as class camps and excursions. Key responsibilities: Support College programs with small group and activity leadership and assist with maintaining physical resources. Be available to mentor and provide pastoral care to students, fostering positive relationships and a caring environment Support the Director of Sport with the organisation and running of sports programs, carnivals, and interschool competitions. Demonstrate a high level of skill in a variety of areas related to Sport and Physical Education, for which further training is provided throughout the year Have the necessary energy, fitness and co-ordination to be able to participate in sporting and physical education pursuits, providing a role model for students Take responsibility for his/her own personal and professional formation Be a positive Christian role model for young people and to foster mentoring relationships with the student body Key Selection Criteria Ability to contribute positively to the ethos and culture of CREST Education. Must have a Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30321). Advantageous to have Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40221) but not essential Demonstrated skill and experience in sports leadership, coaching, or physical education support Ability to be a valuable contributor to a close knit team approach. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision. Demonstrated ability to cope in stressful and demanding situations. Ability and preparedness to work at other locations when required. Preferred Current First Aid qualification. Registration with AUSactive or Physical Activity Australia. Flexibility to work outside normal hours for camps, events, or early/after-school programs. Commitment to ongoing professional learning.
