Opera Australia is seeking a dynamic Tourism Marketing & Sales Specialist to lead our international and domestic tourism strategy. This is your chance to work with one of Australia’s leading performing arts organisations and help shape unforgettable visitor experiences. As Tourism Marketing & Sales Specialist, you’ll drive visitation and revenue through strategic partnerships, product development, and targeted campaigns. You’ll manage relationships with OTAs, wholesalers, and inbound operators, and lead cooperative marketing initiatives with DNSW, Tourism Australia, and global partners. Key Responsibilities • Manage relationships with OTAs, wholesalers, and inbound operators and troubleshoot ticketing systems (Ingresso, Rezdy, Viator, etc.) • Negotiate allocations and contracts with distributors (HelloWorld, AOT, ATS) • Collaborate with state tourism organisations, hotels, airlines, and international partners to develop cooperative campaigns and drive event visibility • Host families, trade events, and concierge experiences • Design and distribute special packages including NYE and private performances • Produce dashboards, reports, and training materials for tourism systems About you • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Tourism, Business or a related field • 5 years’ experience in tourism marketing, sales, or business development • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of tourism distribution networks • High-level IT proficiency, including ticketing and digital marketing platforms (Tessitura experience a plus) • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills • A proactive, flexible, and self-motivated approach What we offer Being Australia’s National opera company, we are committed to fostering a safe and collaborative environment for all.
