Description Position Title: Implementation Manager APAC Location: Australia Your role The Implementation Manager is responsible for efficient delivery of customer implementations in our data centres, including coordination of internal and external resources, coordination of procurement activities, coordination of project progress updates, quality assurance and coordination of handover to customers and to Operations. The Implementation Manager will manage multiple simultaneous projects across several data centres in their region using standard project and construction management best practices. Their primary responsibility is to use standard project management and construction best practices to ensure all deployments are completed on time, in budget, and error-free. What you’ll do Manages effective execution of all assigned customer implementation projects, in accordance with the contractual agreements and implementation timelines. Acts as an interface for customers during the project delivery; coordinates communication with CSMs as required to align with the service wraps. Is responsible for end-to-end project planning, coordination of work, resource allocation, quality specs and timeline. Is responsible for working on creation of a bill of materials and scope/spec for each sub-trade required to implement the customer requirements. Is responsible for creation of project Purchase Orders for any outsourced work. Allocates work to Remote Hands technicians, external vendors, and Security, oversees their effective delivery, and ensures they meet customer and business requirements. Assists with pre-sales activities such as providing project timelines estimates, project budgets etc. Supports the RFP process for tendering of large customer installations, compares quotes from different vendors, and participates in the vendor selection process. Is responsible for and manages customer’s acceptance after completion. Is responsible for the internal hand-over of the implemented solution to internal teams, including the handover of project documentation (not included in scope by the Design Engineering) such as commissioning/testing results, etc, depending on the type and size of the installation. Is responsible for reporting overall project lessons learned to the Implementation Services Lead on what went well, what didn’t go as expected, opportunities to improve. Assists with coordination of on-site deliveries; is responsible for receipt of goods not supplied by the installing vendor. Is responsible for project cost reporting, including documentation of project cost and project cost changes. If applicable due to Customer installation demands, is responsible for submitting of Change Management requests to Operations for review and approval, also ensures MOPs are approved so work can proceed on schedule. Is responsible for submitting vendor access requests and ensuring vendor’s access is validated in time to keep work on schedule. Is responsible for managing a range of internal projects in support of internal network capacity upgrades within the data halls/MMRs and/or white space fit-out projects within the data halls in support of creating new sellable area/capacity. Provides coverage for other Implementation Managers resources based within the APAC region when needed Responsible for orders coming from customers after their lease has commenced, these orders may not require a full-scale project. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Engage in training programs, workshops, and self-directed training to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role. Support subregional initiatives and activities to be an effective member of the cross-functional team. Identify opportunities for process enhancements, suggesting improvements that contribute to efficiency and effectiveness. Assist in onboarding new team members, sharing knowledge and helping them integrate into the team and the firm’s culture. Willing to travel locally and internationally approximately 30-50% of the time What you’ll need University degree preferably technical (i.e.: BA/BS, Engineering, Tele Com. Computer Science etc.) 10 years’ experience in the deployment of fixtures and infrastructure in a data centre environment (preferable in the Telco, Colo or Hosting industry) Or minimum 5 years of experience in operations, data centre construction and/or in the telecommunications/engineering industry. Advanced level knowledge of rack, cage, electrical distribution, and data cable infrastructure, Advanced level knowledge in reading/interpreting construction plans, single-line drawings, and construction specifications, Experience working within an international organisation with teams located across the APAC, EMEA and US. Advanced level proficiency in the use of MS Productivity tools, including Word, Access, Excel, Visio, Experience working with systems like Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle, Expert level proficiency with project management software MS Project, Working knowledge of Cost Accounting. Preferably Project Management Certified Competencies Ability to manage multiple projects, across different sites, with ranges in complexity and customer requirements Ability to track costs for all projects, using purchase orders and other tracking methods, Ability to analyse and solve problems involving several options with limited information, Ability to interpret variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and to work independently, Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills, Must be detail oriented with excellent communications, interpersonal and oral/written presentations skills Able to make effective presentations and respond to questions from groups of clients, customers, and the public Customer service skills Strong multi-tasking abilities, Must be a self-starter, proactive, flexible, and able to work within and meet deadlines, Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission critical facilities environment Experience working with material vendors and installation vendors throughout the lifecycle of a project including scoping, quoting and delivery of large-scale projects A bit about us Digital Realty brings companies and data together by delivering the full spectrum of data center, colocation and interconnection solutions.
