The School Cleaning Service is responsible for the delivery of school cleaning across all ACT Government schools. This includes managing the school cleaning workforce (recruitment, contract management, rostering, procuring cleaning equipment and supplies, implementing site specific cleaning, coordinating cleaning for community hire of school facilities. The School Cleaning Service is seeking candidates who can meet the above criteria and who possess skills and experience for the position of Supervisor. The ideal candidate will: Be available to work full time with daily shifts rostered Monday – Friday between the hours of 10:00am and 10:00pm. Deliver cleaning services across a number of ACT Government Schools. Assist with the supervision, induction, training, toolbox talks, and performance management of School Cleaning Officers. Work with limited supervision and guidance across multiple school sites within an ACT Government School Network. Assist with stakeholder management. Undertake general cleaning duties as required. Ensure Work Health and Safety and Personal Protective Equipment requirements are met. Undertake all duties in accordance with Directorate policies and procedures, and Have cross cultural communication skills. Eligibility/Other requirements: Mandatory Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. Must hold a valid Australian driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one and must have a safe driving record in Australia. Must wear a uniform and work a shift roster. Highly Desirable Experience in cleaning supervision or a leading hand role. Administrative and computer skills, or the ability to learn to operate a variety of computer applications, and work within data bases and records management systems. Experience working with a diverse group of employees. Desirable Experience working with trade unions. A current First Aid Certificate.
