The Employer: Condon Grazing, an owner-operated cattle station, is located 300 km north of Charters Towers and 250 km south of Atherton, surrounded by a friendly local neighbourhood with all the usual campdrafts, rodeos, and events. The Station Hand role is livestock-focused, where you will work with both the owners and additional staff to maintain a herd of 10,000 well-bred commercial Brahman cattle, with a portion joined to Charolais, producing Charbray progeny. Mustering the 52,000 ha property is completed using horses, motorbikes, and helicopters, with the opportunity for the successful applicants to utilise a skilled team of working dogs. The operation is diverse; additionally, 130 acres are farmed under a centre pivot for the production of lucerne and sorghum hay. Ideally, the successful candidates will have experience with beef livestock and some exposure to hay production. All New Holland machinery is modern and well-maintained, as are the infrastructure and facilities. Outside of the mustering seasons, you will be required to assist with general farm maintenance and upkeep, including fencing, infrastructure, water management and hay production.
