Role Overview: They are seeking an experienced Smallgoods Maker to join their dedicated production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, curing, cooking, and smoking smallgoods to the highest standards of quality and food safety. Key Responsibilities: • Produce, cure, season, cook, and smoke smallgoods and specialty meat products according to specifications. • Operate knives, machinery, and smokehouse equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures. • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all work areas. • Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and WHS requirements. • Work collaboratively within a team to meet production schedules and quality targets. • Assist with training and mentoring apprentices or less-experienced staff as required. Candidate Profile: • Proven experience as a Smallgoods Maker or in a meat/smallgoods manufacturing environment. • Strong understanding of curing, brining, cooking, and smoking processes. • Commitment to high standards of hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety. • Strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual tasks. • Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude. Qualifications & Experience Qualification Requirement: AQF Certificate III (or equivalent) in Meat Processing (Smallgoods) or a related field. • Experience Requirement: At least two years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications in some cases. In addition, relevant on-the-job training may be required after qualification. • Typical Pathway: Completion of a Certificate III in Meat Processing (Smallgoods Maker), or equivalent apprenticeship program, combined with practical industry experience.
