Essential Water Apprenticeships An apprenticeship is a great way to kick start your career. All apprenticeship roles are four-year programs which combine structured nationally recognised training with on-the-job experience. Our Water Apprenticeships are based out of our Broken Hill depot with our Essential Water business. About You You are a passionate person who is excited to start your career within a supportive and inclusive team. If you love to work outdoors while gaining a nationally recognised qualification and making positive contributions to your local community then this is the opportunity for you. All of our apprentice positions are physical roles and you will be required to maintain a level of physical fitness with the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and stand for extended periods of time. Tasks will involve actions such as squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, shovelling, walking, crouching and balancing. You will require upper limb strength and endurance to undertake tasks including, carrying and stabilising ladders, climbing, reaching overhead and working at heights for extended periods of time. At times, you may be required to travel for blocks of training (with costs covered by Essential Water), to participate in the role specific training requirements. About the Apprenticeship The Electrical team at Essential Water is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all electrical infrastructure within the business. The Electrician Apprenticeship is a combination of formal TAFE Training (Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician) and on the job training. The team is also responsible for the installation and commissioning of any new infrastructure, as required, to replace or augment existing plant and equipment within the scope of our team. Essential Water infrastructure includes pumping stations, water & sewage treatment plants, storage & reticulation systems, SCADA & telemetry networks.
