We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Principal WH&S Advisor to join QBuild on a contract basis. In this role, you’ll be part of a team that maintains and delivers essential building and maintenance services across Queensland. You’ll play a key role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of the state’s schools, hospitals, housing, and government facilities. Responsibilities of the role (including but not limited to): Managing the development and delivery of WHS training and information sessions for the region, including liaising with external providers when needed and supervising administration of maintenance of the regional WHS training register. Providing WHS&E advice, support and guidance to department operational, supervisory and management staff regarding QBuild Safety Management System (SMS) processes and requirements, legislative compliance and new technologies. Leading the investigation of incident and hazard investigations, producing reporting as required, as well as educate QBuild staff with reporting incidents. Leading the development and implementation of SMSs, risk assessments, WHS management plans and any other WHS management system processes as needed by the region. Leading, developing and educating staff in new technologies both in the field of WHS&E (including the management of asbestos and lead) through formal training and regular communication. Reviewing Environmental and Safety Management System procedures and make recommendations for improvement. Demonstrated strong knowledge of industry, or similar industry, including the ability to identify building construction and maintenances hazards and risks and the related controls and strategies for elimination. Demonstrated experience in the effective development and delivery of programs and improvement initiatives across. Demonstrated experience in effectively managing staff in a complex work environment.
