With a maximum of 12 guests per trip, they provide personalised attention, guided by marine experts, ensuring an educational and memorable adventure. ABC Snorkel Charters is now looking for an experienced Diving Instructor to join their team. The right candidate will be responsible for: Teach and guide snorkelers and certified divers of varying experience levels, analysing skills and providing tailored coaching to build confidence and competence in the water; Conduct comprehensive pre-dive and snorkel briefings to ensure safety, correct technique, and understanding of the marine environment; Plan daily dive/snorkel itineraries based on weather, tides, and guest ability, ensuring optimal safety and guest experience; Adapt site selection and underwater navigation strategies to changing conditions and group dynamics; Motivate guests to overcome fears and engage fully with the underwater experience, fostering a sense of achievement and connection to the reef; Supervise all water activities to ensure safety, engagement, and continuous skill development during tours; Engage with guests pre- and post-tour to build rapport, encouraging return visits and positive word-of-mouth; Support the onboarding and mentoring of new crew members or trainees, sharing knowledge and safety practices; Organise and manage guest participation in snorkelling/diving activities, ensuring smooth coordination of safety protocols, schedules, and logistics; Promote sustainable marine tourism through interactive education on coral reef ecology, marine species identification, and conservation efforts; Encourage responsible diving and snorkelling habits to protect the Great Barrier Reef; Enforce all in-water safety regulations and environmental guidelines during tours; Officiate safe dive/snorkel practices in alignment with PADI/professional diving standards and ABC’s eco-tourism policies; Coordinate with the skipper, crew, and management to ensure activities run smoothly, interpreting operational protocols and marine park regulations; Act as liaison between guests and crew to deliver a seamless, safe, and enriching reef experience; About you: At least 1 year of experience as a Diving Instructor; Strong ability to teach, coach, and adapt to various learning styles; Excellent verbal communication for delivering safety briefings and marine education; Confident in managing emergency situations calmly and effectively; Able to plan, coordinate, and adapt daily itineraries based on environmental and guest factors; Commitment to creating memorable guest experiences; High level of physical fitness to guide and assist in-water activities for extended periods; Proficient in assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting diving and snorkelling gear; Job type: Permanent/full-time Salary $70,000 - $80,000
