Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to contribute to their finance team. Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day activities of the Payroll section to ensure that the pays are accurate and calculated in line with appropriate Industrial Agreements, legislative requirements and relevant policies and meet the required timeframes. Liaise with the People & Culture Business Partner, system providers and the Information Technology department on the management and administration of the computerised HR/Payroll system (Aurion) including upgrades, testing, modifications, troubleshooting, maintenance and training. Provide technical and professional advice to formal leaders and staff on pay and entitlements related matters, including superannuation and salary sacrifice schemes. Liaise with the Coordinator WHS on the processing and payment of Workers compensation claims, providing support and advice as required. Provide the Finance Department with relevant reports within the required timeframes in particular, reconciliations, creditor advice, bank transfers etc. Ensure that the payroll processes, records and transactions comply with the requirements of auditors and relevant legislation and provide advice and reports for auditors and take corrective action as required. Identify individual or collective trends e.g. leave patterns, pay anomalies etc or any other workplace activity that requires further investigation and refer to the Formal Leaders and People & Culture Business Partner as appropriate. Provide regular and ad hoc statistical information both internally and externally and, in particular, for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Superannuation Schemes, Departmental reports, etc, reporting any anomalies to the People & Culture Business Partner as required. Requirements: End to end payroll processing experience Proven experience in interpreting Industrial Agreements, policies, procedures, legislation relevant to payroll (including taxation, workers compensation, long service leave regulations etc) Systems administration experience including configuration experience Aurion system experience desirable but not essential.
