Full-time Formwork Carpenter position available in Edmonson Park NSW 2174 DOE Construction is a family-owned civil infrastructure specialist established in 2015, delivering integrated formwork, steel fixing and concrete placement packages across Sydney. The business is known for on-time delivery, strong WHS culture, and high-quality workmanship on complex civil and structural projects. On behalf of DOE Construction, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Formwork Carpenter to join their team and contribute for their ongoing success. As a Formwork Carpenter, you will help deliver bridges, culverts, retaining structures, pavements and complex civil/structural works. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Read and interpret drawings/specifications; set out work fronts; verify lines, levels, plumb and squareness with tape/laser; mark up pour breaks, penetrations and block-outs. Measure, cut, assemble and install shutters, soffits, edge forms, boxing, bracing and propping for slabs (on-ground/suspended), beams, walls, columns, stairs, pavements and pits using timber/plywood and proprietary systems (e.g., PERI/Doka/RMD/Acrow). Erect/modify falsework, working decks, handrails and access/egress in line with SWMS and load ratings. Coordinate with steel fixers and concreters on pour sequencing, placement and vibration; check clear cover, pour geometry and finish requirements. De-prop and strip formwork to curing/strength requirements; clean, repair and re-use shutters; patch minor defects/honeycombing. Complete ITP hold-points and pre-pour checks, measure tolerances, support inspections; close out NCRs/punch items. Safely operate and maintain carpentry tools and small plant (saws, drills, nail guns); assist with formwork component inventories. Attend pre-starts/toolboxes; follow SWMS, exclusion zones, manual handling and environmental controls (dust/sediment/noise); maintain housekeeping. Qualifications and Skills: Trade qualification in Carpentry (at least Certificate III) or three years of work experience At least 1 year of proven work experience as a Formwork Carpenter WHS First mindset, tidy work habits, and clear communications with clients/site manager. Reliable, organised, able to work independently or lead a small crew. Strong plan reading, set-out and measuring skills. Competent operation and basic maintenance of saws, frills, nail guns, generators; component inventory awareness. Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $76,500 - $95,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
