About Us Workfast is partnering with a well established Adelaide based head contractor with over 50 years of experience in concrete construction and remediation across civil infrastructure, resources, and marine environments. Our client has secured a major contract under the Jetties Renewal Program , upgrading critical coastal infrastructure on the Yorke Peninsula. Safety, quality craftsmanship, and lasting infrastructure are at the core of their work. The Opportunity We're looking for skilled Marine Construction Carpenters to join our client's site teams. This hands-on role focuses on repairing and replacing ageing timber components in a dynamic marine environment, including piles, decking, bearers, girders, crossheads, bracing, and fishplates. Key Details Start Date: Within ~4 weeks (subject to project schedule) Duration: Minimum 6 months, with potential for long-term employment Hours: ~10-hour days, 5-6 days/week (varies with tidal conditions) Accommodation/Travel: Adelaide-based candidates preferred; travel/accommodation can be arranged for the right candidate Pay: $54/hr super penalties daily travel allowance Key Responsibilities Demolition, repair, and replacement of timber jetty components Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings and specifications with precision Follow all WHS procedures to ensure safe work over water and around heavy plant Deliver high-quality workmanship that meets engineering and project standards Work collaboratively with the site team, supporting other trades as required Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to a high standard Skills and Experience Essential: Trade Qualified carpenter (Certificate mandatory) Hands-on experience in marine timber work or civil/structural timber refurbishment Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in changing weather and over water Valid Australian Driver's License and WHS White Card Ability to read and apply engineering drawings accurately Desirable: Tickets such as Coxswain, EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces (or willingness to obtain) Experience operating marine or construction plant (forklifts, small work boats) Strong teamwork and communication skills Commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail Apply Now Join a skilled site team delivering lasting coastal infrastructure!
