A rare opportunity has presented itself to appoint an experienced Senior Executive to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Commissioners, the CEO's key responsibilities include: Lead and manage a motivated and engaged team General oversight of the delivery of services and operations of Council Articulate a vision and sense of purpose aligned to Council's Strategic Plan Community and stakeholder engagement Provide leadership in the execution and delivery of major projects Oversee the asset and infrastructure management plan Ensure financial performance and sustainability Comply with the governance and legislated requirements of Council Maintain the Economic Development and Tourism strategy Ensure a safe workplace environment Provide sound and trusted advice to the Commissioners It is essential that you have senior management experience and an understanding of the Local Government sector. You will need to be commercially and financially savvy, visionary and an evidence-based thinker who can deliver major projects and meet the expectations of Council. It is expected that you are a values driven individual who can develop, mentor and retain staff whilst building a high-performance workplace environment. You will be expected to be an excellent communicator, advocate, negotiator, confident public speaker and someone who can provide clear and concise advice to the Commissioners.
