Our employees are highly motivated, professional members of the Queensland Police Service and provide a valuable service to community safety in State Government buildings and precincts. Our First Nations program is designed to provide protective services within a number of Aboriginal Shire Council Communities and has already been established in Palm Island, Yarrabah, Bamaga, Woorabinda and Lockhart River. This recruitment process is to find suitable supervisors for each of the teams in these communities. The core capability requirements for this role are: Provide leadership, supervision, direction, and on-the-job training of staff, (including mobile patrols staff) in addition to identification of staff training needs through Performance and Development Agreements. Lead efficient and effective work teams providing quality protective security service delivery. Allocate resources in consultation with Security Operations Officer / Senior Site Security Coordinator, (human and physical) to meet operational and administrative requirements. Provide urgent back-up assistance to Protective Services Officers in critical incident situations. Prepare comprehensive reports in consultation with Security Operations Officer / Senior Site Security Coordinator on operational, administration and staffing issues. Manage first response to incidents until resolution or handover to relevant emergency services provider. Liaise with stakeholders to assist in the resolution of issues and improve service delivery. Role Requirements: Mandatory Current First Aid Medical Certificate Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience Leadership skills will be considered favourably. Knowledge in security operations Other * Successful completion of the Protective Services Officers Course, to be facilitated by Protective Services Group, is a component of the selection process and a prerequisite for appointment to this position.
