OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE The National Gallery is seeking permanent part time and casual Exhibitions Installers to join an experienced and enthusiastic installation team. The Exhibitions Installers sit within the Gallery's Exhibitions Team and are responsible for the preparation and installation of works of art and associated display materials to high exhibition standards. Exhibition Installers may respond to all areas of the Gallery that require assistance with the installation or handling of works of art and can expect to regularly liaise with Conservation, Curatorial, Registration Travelling Exhibitions and Workshop staff through the Exhibitions Section. The key duties of the position include WHAT WILL YOU DO? - DUTY STATEMENT In accordance with the APS 3 work level standards, you will: Under the direction of the Exhibitions team will work on the installation and demount of works of art, gallery furniture and signage exhibited by the Gallery on and off site. With the installation team, provide installation assistance to Curatorial and other professional staff. Data entry into Collection Management System for installation related equipment and manuals. Prepare for WH&S inspections of office and contribute to the development of Safe Working Procedures and Job Safety Analyses and perform other duties as required.
