The key duties of the position include The MPHU, PDU and SaRHU are looking for a Maternity Sector Advisor to assist with their work programs as well as to advise the AIHW more broadly. The successful applicant should have experience working in the maternal and perinatal health sector in roles with a strong emphasis on the use of data and routine reporting for quality and safety and service improvement and/or clinical governance and performance management. The successful candidate will support work to improve the timeliness, utility and availability of national data. The role involves engagement and consultation with a range of jurisdictional, policy, technical and clinical stakeholders. The Advisor role will guide and support improvements to the collection and reporting of maternal and perinatal data, and the provision of data insights back to key stakeholders, including data providers, policy developers and maternity service providers. The role is up to 24 months with the possibility of extension. Under general direction you will: lead consultations with the maternity sector, including service providers, policy makers and other entities, to ensure the AIHW data and reporting is aligned with clinical practice and maternity service needs advise and support teams to design and deliver high quality information and data products that reflect the needs of the maternity sector, including through providing insights based on clinical experiences and consultations work collaboratively with other Executive officers to provide leadership, direction, and the effective management of resources support improvements to data collection, validation, analysis and reporting processes and systems contribute to the provision of secretariat support for various committees write reports, briefings, agenda papers and business cases and give presentations to different audiences liaise and negotiate with other areas of the AIHW, and represent the Group/Unit at meeting.
