You'll receive competitive salary and benefits. Position overview The Enterprise Test and Release Manager is responsible for managing and developing the Enterprise Test and Release Capabilities. This new role focuses on enhancing and maturing these capabilities as they transition from a major security program to supporting the delivery and sustainment of core Bureau platforms and services. As a leadership position, the Enterprise Test and Release Manager requires extensive knowledge of test and release best practices, including industry standards, frameworks, processes, and work practices. Given that these capabilities are new to the Bureau of Meteorology, the role demands a strong leader capable of driving change through critical thinking, influencing skills, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Lead with an ownership mindset the testing and release capability on behalf of the Bureau, taking responsibility for the development and continual improvement of both capabilities to ensure delivery of high-quality services ensuring the integrity of the integrated test and operational environments are not compromised. Lead the enterprise test team to provide selection, development, implementation and continual improvement of modern testing methods, tools, techniques, and practices, ensuring appropriate application of both waterfall and agile methodologies within the Bureau context. Lead the enterprise release team to manage and continuously mature the release capability, ensuring the team have the knowledge, skills, tools and processes necessary to be successful whilst ensuring the release and deployment activities are maintained to support an integrated release and deployment schedule. Govern and ensure the quality of the management standards for testing and ensure projects, teams and functions have appropriate practices in place and are meeting required the Bureau's testing quality outcomes reporting outcomes to senior leadership teams. Apply a continuous improvement lens to the testing framework and quality standards, taking ownership over implementation of initiatives and mitigations towards improving outcomes for the Bureau's platforms, systems and assets. Govern and ensure the quality of the release framework by considering activities across capabilities, delivery, and environment teams. This includes providing and reporting to senior leadership, detailed release and deployment plans and an integrated release calendar or schedule for mapping program/project priorities, identifying synergies and technical interdependencies within project releases, and resolving potential conflicts to maintain release integrity. Additionally, the manager will oversee the release schedule and milestones throughout the project lifecycle. Lead and champion a team that represents our test and release capabilities at planning and governance forums across the organisation, ensuring seamless alignment with key Bureau functions, and actively engage with senior stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of consistency and quality in our processes.
