Your Position: As a Mechanical Service Technician , you’ll play a key role in keeping our automated material handling systems running smoothly. Your day-to-day will include performing maintenance, responding to reactive service calls, and supporting system operations to ensure maximum productivity, safety, and equipment availability. Working within your assigned shift, you’ll be hands-on with electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems—installing, maintaining, and repairing cutting-edge Vanderlande equipment. Your Responsibilities: Diagnose and resolve issues in automated picking systems to reduce downtime. Assist the Service team with troubleshooting and technical guidance. Analyse performance data and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and system performance; generate reports for stakeholders. Lead and contribute to initiatives that enhance system performance and reliability. Proactively address issues during shifts to maintain optimal operations. Support junior technicians in developing technical skills and knowledge. Foster open communication, teamwork, and sharing of best practices. Drive innovation, assign responsibilities, and ensure accountability for system upkeep. Deliver prompt, high-quality maintenance and resolve customer issues efficiently. Promote inclusivity, shared ownership, and continuous feedback for team growth About You This role is ideal for an individual who strives to add value, cultivate a collaborative approach to service delivery and has a passion for continuous improvement. Degree, diploma, or certificate in mechanical, or related technical field. Act as a key contact for technical issues with internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with WCS, SCADA, industrial networks, and PLC systems (desirable). Demonstrates a methodical and structured work style. Skilled in accurately recording maintenance, incidents, and breakdowns. Strong written and verbal communication with teams and stakeholders. Willingness to work various shifts as needed.
