Description The opportunity Downer’s Water business is seeking an experienced Senior Zero Harm Advisor to join our NG4D delivery team. This role is pivotal in supporting and leading our commitment to safety and environmental excellence across our operations. Reporting to the Regional Zero Harm Manager, you will lead, develop and advise on Downer Zero Harm standards and legislative requirements, ensuring our teams are equipped to deliver work safely and responsibly. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and influencing a culture of safety ownership across our projects. This includes providing governance and assurance through targeted field engagement and assurance activities, leading and supporting incident investigations, and delivering expert (SME) advice and guidance to operational leaders. You’ll also coach and mentor key stakeholders to strengthen their capability, develop and drive proactive risk reduction initiatives, and support contractor management to ensure safe and consistent delivery. Collaborative team player with demonstrated capability to lead a team. Demonstrated experience in operational or safety roles within realated fields such as Heavy Industry, Utilities and Infrastructure, Mining (Water Utilities or Civil Construction desirable) Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment Management systems and comporary health and safety best practice Excellent communication, coaching and contractor management skills Proven ability to manage incident reporting, investigations, and compliance audits A minimum WHS Diploma (Adv. Diploma/Degree in WHS or similar dicipline desirable) Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and ICAM Lead Investigator qualifications (both desirable) You’ll be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of influencing safe behaviours across diverse teams.
