We are seeking a Research Fellow to support Professor Katy Bell conduct health services research, including the MELSELF Project , a NHMRC-funded randomised controlled trial. The incumbent will be highly experienced in NHMRC research projects and specifically have experience in skin cancer based digital health research, and Studies Within A Trial (SWATs). Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct original research independently and collaboratively, with a focus on high-impact publications, conference presentations, and securing competitive research funding lead the development of scholarly outputs, including trial protocols, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and qualitative research reports, with demonstrated success in influencing clinical guidelines and generating significant academic and media engagement manage research ethics and governance processes, including trial registration, ethics submissions, amendments, and compliance reporting apply clinical and academic expertise to audit and interpret complex clinical data, ensuring accuracy and rigour in research findings design and develop essential study materials such as data management plans and participant information and consent forms contribute to methodological innovation to enhance clinical trial processes and translation into practice contribute to national and international research initiatives, including systematic reviews, test accuracy communication, and clinical guideline development support the preparation and submission of competitive grant applications, including MRFF and implementation science funding schemes engage in translational research that informs policy, improves clinical practice, and supports innovation in healthcare delivery and education provide informal mentorship to junior researchers and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive research culture actively participate in professional networks contributing to the development of global resources for clinical trial improvement About you hold a PhD in a relevant field (or working towards), with a strong foundation in clinical trial design and implementation. Hold a Masters Degree in Public Health have experience in Studies Within A Trial (SWATs), digital health, and in Melanoma and other skin cancer research have demonstrated experience leading manuscript and protocol development, with published work that has influenced international clinical guidelines and generated significant academic and media attention possess a developing research profile supported by competitive funding, including NHMRC scholarships and grant contributions bring expertise in ethics and governance, including trial registration, ethics submissions, and compliance reporting have strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills, with experience auditing and interpreting complex clinical data are skilled in developing study materials such as data management plans and participant consent documentation have contributed to national guideline development and published in high-impact journals demonstrate a commitment to translational research, with active involvement in projects that improve equity and practice in melanoma surveillance are recognised for innovation in educational research, with contributions to evidence-based learning modules and presentations at major conferences actively participate in professional networks, contributing to global improvements in clinical trial methodology have experience mentoring junior researchers and contributing to a collaborative research culture contribute to the promotion of high ethical standards and participant welfare in health research.
