About the Role This Sydney-based Legal Assistant role will provide high-level support to three family lawyers, assisting across a mix of client management, document preparation, billing, and administrative coordination. You’ll play an integral role in ensuring the team’s efficiency - removing non-billable tasks from solicitors so they can focus on delivering quality outcomes for clients. You’ll also work closely with a supportive Newcastle-based operations team and benefit from structured one-on-ones, clear KPIs, and established procedures that set you up for success. Key responsibilities include: Providing day-to-day support to three family solicitors Managing billing, collections, and file workflows in LEAP and CLIO Drafting documents and correspondence using precedents Support client onboarding and new matter setup, ensuring workflows in CLIO are followed and tasks are managed proactively Contributing to firm procedures and continuous improvement initiatives About You We’re seeking a confident, career-driven Legal Assistant who thrives in a structured, collaborative environment. You’ll bring: 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant (family law preferred but not essential) Strong systems capability – LEAP proficiency highly regarded A process-oriented mindset with comfort following SOPs and meeting KPIs A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a calm and professional manner Desire to contribute beyond admin – supporting lawyers to deliver exceptional service This is a full-time position , though a 4-day week may be considered for the right person.
