About the role: The Compliance Officer provides regulatory advice related to assisted reproductive treatment, child safe standards – health entities, non-emergency patient transport and first aid services, and human tissue sectors. Working across these complex and sensitive sectors, the Compliance Officer will use their knowledge and experience to support and administer the team's regulatory functions and monitor and enforce compliance in accordance with the relevant legislation. Reporting to the Manager, Regulated Services, you will support a busy team of senior compliance staff to provide advice to senior management in the Department and the Minister for Health on various regulatory issues and administer legislation and regulations governing the team's areas of responsibility. Interprets and applies business plans and policies to own area of responsibility Conveys specialist concepts and policies to duty holders; staff and other stakeholders Researches and applies advanced knowledge in specialised fields to operational problem solving Develops and implements operational policy which impacts the immediate work area Provides specialist administrative and corporate support expertise Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications Current Victorian driver's licence Certificate IV in Government Investigations Additional tertiary qualification in a relevant field (regulation, law, public health) or Ahpra registered health professional (nurse/paramedic/pharmacy/allied health) would be highly regarded. Additional Requirements : The role may include periods of out-of- business hours work (weeknights and weekends) and travel to regional and remote areas. Specialist Expertise Experience in regulatory and public policy work as well as knowledge of relevant government legislation. Experience in the private health service sector, hospital environment or in a clinical environment would be advantageous.
