About The Role And What You’ll Do This is a great opportunity that provides entry level experience working in a local government statutory planning context. You’ll work part time (24 hours per week) from 5 January to 18 December 2026 - applying what you’re learning in a supportive and practical environment. You’ll: provide excellent customer service in relation to town planning matters and enquiries. assess straightforward planning applications and related requests. provide support to the Development Planning, Customer Service Units and other business units within Council as required. work closely with experienced Planners who will mentor and guide you every step of the way. collaborate with stakeholders across Council and the wider community. What We’re Looking For Currently completing a Planning degree. Demonstrated commitment to our values: respect, integrity, responsibility, initiative and inclusion. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A genuine interest in planning and urban design with some knowledge of general planning and development issues. Ability to manage your time, stay organised, and work both independently and in a team. What We Offer Salary from $44,292.86 to $46,473.40 per annum plus super (for comparison at full time this would be $70,306.14 to $73,767.30 per annum).
