The Role We are seeking a motivated Rope Access Technical Authority/Training Manager to ensure IRATA compliance with requirements and oversee all rope access training. As the Rope Access Technical Authority/Training Manager , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational success while upholding the highest safety standards and driving business growth. Perth-based role with frequent travel as required by the business unit. Key Responsibilities: Maintain company compliance with IRATA requirements, oversee accreditation audits, prepare documentation, and coordinate corrective actions to uphold certification standards. Oversee Rope Access training and refresher courses delivered through SRG’s training centre, including Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments and instructor support, ground to Ropes upskilling requirements. Act as the Rope Access technical authority, supporting supervisors and technicians with legislation updates, standards interpretation, and best practice implementation. Maintain accuracy and currency of all IRATA technical and training procedures. Identify areas of rope access operational improvement either via optimisation or innovation. Ensure that safety is an integral component of all execution work. Promote a high standard of work to deliver a quality outcome Audit rope access operations at all Asset Maintenance sites to ensure adherence to IRATA and SRG standards, addressing any identified gaps. Stay informed about current IRATA developments and technical standards. Lead and manage the company's Rope Access operations. Attend site meetings with client and senior management to discuss rope access requirements, safety, the environment, employee relations and other issues. Coordinate with clients, safety representatives, and other contractors regarding rope access safety and rescue protocols. Provide onsite technical expertise for Rope Access scopes. Develop and deliver technical training on Rope Access specialised equipment to support safe and efficient field operations. Manage inspections and certifications of Rope Access and all working at heights equipment to meet compliance and IRATA standards. Maintain accurate equipment records, inspections, and expiry dates in the EASY ID system, ensuring equipment compliance and reporting. Attend mandatory IRATA meeting such as the AGM The successful applicant will ideally have: Previous experience in a similar role Cert IV WHS (or similar, to be undertaken as part of your ongoing development). Cert IV in Training & Assessment (Willingness to obtain) Level 3 IRATA (essential) IRATA Instructor. ICAM lead investigator (to be undertaken as part of your ongoing development). Ability to evaluate information effectively; analytical, factual, and rational. Ability to handle competing demands in high pressure environments.
