APS6 Classification Officer : Support the technical development of classification systems, interpret health data and assist in program delivery and stakeholder engagement. EL1 Manager : Lead classification development projects, manage stakeholder relationships and contribute to strategic planning, reporting and procurement. We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected independent government agency that plays a key role in shaping the funding and delivery of public health and aged care services across Australia. These 12 month contract roles offer the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant work in health policy, classification development and data analysis. These exciting opportunities are available within a branch focused on health classification and funding policy: APS6: The Classification Officer reports to the Classification Manager and supports all components of classification development and refinement. This includes technical development of classifications and associated specifications, the interpretation and communication of data and development of metadata. The role also involves stakeholder engagement, project support and operational coordination. EL1: The Manager supports the Director, Classifications in delivering the classification development work program. This includes refining activity-based funding classifications, managing procurements and contracts and overseeing stakeholder relationships and strategic deliverables. Both roles contribute to the development of nationally consistent funding models for public hospital and aged care services. Key Responsibilities APS6 Classification Officer Assist in developing and refining classification systems and specifications Interpret and communicate health data, develop metadata Support project and program management Build and maintain stakeholder relationships EL1 Manager Lead classification development work programs Prepare high-level papers and correspondence for advisory bodies Manage procurement and contracts Establish and maintain strategic stakeholder relationships What We’re Looking For We’re seeking candidates with experience in health policy, health information management or related fields. You’ll bring: Strong program and project management skills Ability to work independently and make informed decisions Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities Understanding of legislative and policy frameworks in the public sector Desirable Qualifications Qualifications in health, health information management, policy or similar fields would be highly regarded but is not essential.
