The Opportunity As the Nurse Unit Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, evidence-based practice and operational efficiency within the oncology unit. You'll lead a skilled nursing team, manage resources, and champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage nursing teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centred oncology care. Oversee daily operations, workforce planning, and resource allocation. Uphold compliance with national safety, clinical governance, and quality standards. Mentor, coach, and support professional development across the nursing team. Drive quality improvement, audit, and risk management initiatives. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, compassionate care. About You You are a confident and capable nurse leader with a passion for oncology and excellence in patient care. Essential Criteria: Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Postgraduate qualifications and ≥12 months' oncology/haematology experience, or ≥4 years post-registration (including ≥3 years in a leadership or specialist role). Proven ability to lead teams, manage clinical operations, and deliver measurable outcomes. Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, quality, and risk management. Desirable: Experience in radiation therapy nursing. Knowledge of chemotherapy/immunotherapy credentialing (eviQ, ADAC).
