It’s an influential role for an experienced professional who knows the sector… OOHC is a deeply emotional challenge. And it’s never easy. But coming into this new leadership role with the benefit of years of experience, you already know that. Thankfully, you’re also aware that - with the right systems in place (and they are) - you can help change the future for children and young people needing help and support. As an incoming Manager, as part of the executive team, you will need the confidence, skills, knowledge and personal magnetism to calmly take up this important role without fuss and fanfare. Smoothly continuing ‘business as usual’, you will provide and promote a safe culture in a welcoming environment for children, young people and staff. With much of your work involving strategic business and service planning in consultation with management and other stakeholders, it’s important that you are completely across evolving government reforms, industry trends, sector development and community expectations. It’s also a given that you bring the grit, confidence and growth mindset to innovate, respond and lead. You’ll also need excellent IT capabilities as a techno and CRM, LMS and personal care software expert. ClearCare, Cloud Assess and Employment Hero are the key words here. Personable, articulate and a convincing communicator, you’re ‘comfortable in your own skin’ and know your boundaries. With this confidence and sense of self, you enjoy lots of outward facing stakeholder engagement, promoting ‘your’ organisation on the wider stage, speaking at conferences and collaborating with other OOHC and support agencies. Resilient, emotionally intelligent - especially in trauma informed care, safeguarding practice and complex case management - you are a natural hands-on coach with a flair for teaching, training and encouraging other people.
