This progressive Regional Shire in Western Australia is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Roads & Infrastructure Asset Officer to help manage its critical infrastructure portfolio. The Role This full-time position is perfect for someone with practical experience in road construction, maintenance or infrastructure, combined with strong asset management planning and coordination capabilities. As part of the Shire's Infrastructure Team, you'll oversee and support the maintenance, planning and management of key community assets, including: Road networks (sealed/unsealed) Drainage systems Parks, gardens & street furniture Civil infrastructure reporting and project planning This is not a desk-only role — you'll work closely with operations teams and finance to support effective, compliant, and forward-looking asset management in a remote local government environment. What's On Offer Regional WA Location - must be open to relocating Housing & Relocation Support Provided Attractive salary superannuation - based on experience Career development - play a key role in a growing infrastructure team Be part of transformative projects with real community impact Key Responsibilities Develop and implement asset management plans for roads, drainage, parks, and public infrastructure Conduct condition assessments of roads and other civil assets Liaise with finance to ensure accurate asset valuation, depreciation, and reporting Coordinate works schedules and preventative maintenance programs Contribute to long-term financial planning and project prioritisation Provide technical support for capital projects, funding applications (e.g., MRWA or Disaster Relief Funding), and contractor engagement Promote WHS, compliance, and best practice across the team What You'll Need to Succeed Essential: Civil infrastructure, engineering, or asset management background (tertiary qualification or trade experience) Knowledge of road maintenance and infrastructure asset management Ability to interpret plans, schedules, and condition reports Experience in local government, public works, or regional projects Strong communication and reporting skills High computer literacy (asset systems, spreadsheets, project tools) WA 'C' class driver's licence (MR/HR desirable) Desirable: Experience reporting under Main Roads WA or Disaster Relief Funding First Aid certificate Familiarity with GIS, asset management software, or MS Project Prior experience living or working in a regional or remote setting Pre-Employment Requirements Ability to satisfy a 100-point ID check Valid Police Clearance (under 6 months) Work rights in Australia Pre-employment medical Vaccination compliance (if mandated) If this sounds like you, apply now.
