Job Description: • Fitzroy location • Senior leadership opportunity • Full time, fixed term until 01/02/2027 About the Role The Deputy Chief Medical Imaging Technologist will work in collaboration with the Chief Medical Imaging Technologist and other senior clinical team members, to provide operational management, leadership and supervision to staff and students within the St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne Medical Imaging Department (MID and SVPR). Participate in clinical Radiography, performing imaging examinations across a number of modalities and sites within SVHM to a high diagnostic standard. Some participation in shift or after-hours rosters may be required. Ability to contribute effectively as a participative team member within a multidisciplinary team environment, including involvement in daily operations and decision making. Participate in staff recruitment, orientation, training and performance development of staff within the team. Provide feedback and mentoring to staff and students, as well as providing leadership and support to senior staff to develop their skills in this area. Establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships internal and external to SVHM. Classifications for this position is AF35 ($156,748per annum) . Your Contribution Under-graduate Bachelor degree and a relevant post graduate qualification within Medical Imaging- Medical Radiation or Medical Sonography. National registration with AHPRA to practice as a Medical Imaging Technologist or registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) to practice as a Sonographer. Extensive clinical experience within Medical Imaging. Demonstrated experience in professional leadership, supervision and/ or management of staff in a tertiary healthcare environment. Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain. St. Vincent’s Medical Imaging Department (MID) is a tertiary imaging department providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services to SVHM’s inpatients and outpatients. St. Vincent’s Private Radiology (SVPR) is a comprehensive private radiology service, operating out of two locations within the Fitzroy campus. SVPR provides imaging services to St. Vincent Private Hospital, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and private outpatients, including diagnostic imaging and procedural examinations.
