Full-time Retail Buyer position available in Eastwood, NSW 2122 On behalf of Eastwood Village Superfresh, a cornerstone of the Eastwood community since 2003, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Retail Buyer to oversee their strategic procurement and supplier management. The store is renowned for providing fresh produce, grocery essentials, and specialty items to a diverse customer base, and this role is essential in ensuring that customers continue to enjoy the highest quality products at competitive prices every day. The successful candidate will play an integral role in planning, selecting, and procuring a wide range of fresh produce, dry goods, and grocery products. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer preferences to determine product ranges, quantities, and pricing strategies. Source and negotiate with suppliers (local growers, wholesalers, and distributors) to secure competitive prices, reliable delivery schedules, and high-quality goods. Maintain and expand supplier networks to diversify sourcing and reduce risk of shortages. Plan and monitor stock levels to ensure availability of fresh and seasonal products while minimising wastage. Develop promotional buying strategies in collaboration with retail management to support sales campaigns. Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality assurance, and industry standards. Liaise with operations and retail staff to ensure the curated product range meets customer expectations and enhances shopping experience. Provide regular reports on purchasing performance, margins, and supplier costs to management. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or related field. At least one year of proven work experience as a Retail Buyer preferably within the grocery and fresh produce industry. Demonstrated success in managing supplier networks and negotiating large-scale transactions. Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Analytical ability to interpret sales data and forecast demand. Commercial awareness and understanding of grocery retail market dynamics. Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $76,000 - $82,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
