Role description: Casual Flood Modeller or Senior Flood Modeller role has opened in our Victorian Civil Infrastructure team to support an increase in project work. You will be part of an experienced team dedicated to excellence in design of drainage and flood management. Role accountabilities: Your work will encompass the development of hydrological and hydraulic models (flood modelling) and authoring reports or other documentation. You will be responsible for collaborating with junior team members, with support from more senior Flooding and Hydrology experts. Work within a defined area of responsibility on projects with flooding elements. This may include being responsible for specific parts of a design package within a project. Check the quality and accuracy of own and others' work. You will be provided with guidance, training, and feedback with support from our National Flood Risk Community. Ensure that the delivery of flood modelling tasks, including meeting budget, time-frame and quality targets, exceeds client expectations. Qualification & Experience: First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You are a technically capable Flood Modeller with experience on major civil infrastructure projects and come to us with: Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant skills. 2-7 years post-graduate experience, most likely in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role, with exposure to medium-large and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. Professional experience with TUFLOW (1D, 2D, combined 1D/2D) is an essential criterion. Flood modelling with other hydraulic modelling packages such as HEC-RAS is desirable Hydrologic analysis (e.g., RORB, RAFTS, etc.) Experience in GIS software such as MapInfo, QGIS and/or ArcGIS. Awareness of ARR2019 guidelines. An ability and desire to work on multidisciplinary projects. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines (Melbourne Water and VicRoads/Austroads standards). Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership will be highly regarded.
