Full time fixed term until 31 December 2026 at Camperdown Research Fellow role in Adolescent Health and Wellbeing research at the Sydney Nursing School Base Salary $ 127,436 17% superannuation About the opportunity At Sydney Nursing School we are committed to the vital role that nurses, dietitians and other public health experts play throughout a person’s life and strive to create research that improves patient experience with an impact on health policy. A new and exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Research Fellow to provide research expertise in the important area of Adolescent Health and Wellbeing. You will support Stephanie Partridge and the Youth Well Lab research team to achieve research objectives on projects aiming to minimise the harms and harness the benefits of digital technologies to improve adolescents’ lifestyle behaviours. This work is underpinned by youth engagement and includes youth advisors who are passionate about improving the health of their generation. Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct original research independently or collaboratively, with a focus on publishing high-impact findings and securing research funding to advance adolescent health and well-being maintain a strong research profile through peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference presentations, particularly in areas related to digital health technologies and food policy design and evaluate innovative digital tools that promote healthy behaviours and improve access to support services for young people generate evidence to inform food policies and create digital and physical environments that make healthy eating easier and more accessible for adolescents develop research collaborations and engage in translational research that leads to commercialisation, policy reform, or tangible improvements in community health outcomes contribute to competitive research grant applications that support equity, sustainability, and long-term health impact for future generations uphold excellence in research quality, integrity, and output across all activities provide informal mentoring to junior academics and supervise postgraduate research students or projects where appropriate contribute to administrative responsibilities and actively participate in faculty or school meetings foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity of thought, collaboration, and achievement align research contributions with the strategic goals of the university and faculty/school communicate research outcomes through public events, industry forums, and academic conferences undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate to the classification level as required About you Doctorate or PhD - In Nutrition and Dietetics or related field and/or Master of Public Health proven experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity, with a focus on adolescent health, digital technologies, and food policy a developing research profile in your discipline or area of expertise, supported by a growing record of peer-reviewed publications and conference contributions demonstrated expertise in consumer engagement, clinical trials, and mixed-methods research, with the ability to translate findings into practical applications strong understanding of the digital food environment and its impact on young people's diets and health, with a commitment to minimising nutrition-related harms expertise in big data analyses and policy reviews, contributing to evidence-based recommendations and strategic health interventions a developing network of academic, industry, and professional partners and stakeholders, with a collaborative approach to research and innovation proven experience supervising and mentoring others, including postgraduate research students and early-career academics demonstrated ability to contribute to competitive research funding applications and deliver measurable research impact commitment to equity, sustainability, and improving health outcomes for current and future generations strong communication skills and ability to share research through public forums, industry engagement, and academic events alignment with the strategic goals of the university and faculty/ Sponsorship / work rights for Australia You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
