Key Responsibilities: Perform road construction, grading, and maintenance tasks. Operate and maintain plant, tools, fuel trailers, and associated equipment. Complete required documentation (logbooks, timesheets, fuel sheets). Assist in emergency response roadworks. Adhere to all safety protocols and wear PPE. Work effectively within a remote team environment and communicate clearly with team members and the public. Contribute to a safe and respectful workplace aligned with the Shire's Code of Conduct. Work Conditions: Frequent travel and extended periods away from home. Exposure to dust, weather, noise, and physically demanding tasks. Current roster: 10 days on / 4 days off, 100-hour fortnight (subject to change). (Note the salary is an annualized salary that incorporates base, overtime and leave loading) Essential Criteria: Competent in operating heavy plant (especially graders). Understanding of WHS in remote/outdoor settings. Ability to work independently in isolated areas. Strong communication and basic time management skills. Valid WA 'C' and 'MR' or 'HR' driver's licence. Desirable: Current First Aid Certificate (003). Experience with unsealed road grading. Pre-employment Requirements: 100-point ID check. Police Clearance (within 6 months). Valid work rights in Australia. Pre-employment medical. Compliance with any applicable vaccination mandates.
