The Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Department delivers training from Certificate 3 level through to Diploma level qualifications in hairdressing, barbering, make up and beauty therapy. The department delivers training through the apprenticeship program, full time, part time and flexible study modes. The department works collaboratively with industry and with other areas across the College of Technology and Design and CIT to create unique innovative learning opportunities for students. The Administration Support Officer reports to Head of Department and has a wide of responsibilities, and work under limited direction. The primary focus of the position is reception duties for the Hair and Beauty therapy department, co-ordinate students and client service operations within the 8 x Hair and Beauty Bar salons. Including not limited to scheduling clients, using the Shortcuts system, answering phone calls, and handling routine enquiries. First point-of-contact for all program enquires for Australian School-Based Apprenticeships (ASBAs), apprentices/trainee, and international students, and industry employers, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided. Complete enrolments and re-enrolments; use of student information systems, including Banner9; and specialist student services, including referrals to appropriate services and information sources. Liaise with staff from CIT Hair and beauty Therapy department and across all relevant CIT department to share up-to-date quality information to ensure a consistent and streamlined approach to student and client-centred services. Eligibility/Other requirements: Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. Knowledge of the collection and reconcile of public monies Experience using Microsoft office products (word, excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Webex), TRIM, and CIT systems (CRM, ARGOS and Banner9) Notes: This is a temporary position available from January 2026 for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. This position is part-time at (22) hours per week with the possibility of full-time hours, and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata.
