The Platform business unit at AMP is responsible for delivering market-leading investment administration and technology solutions to financial advisers, wealth managers and their clients. Platforms are integrated systems that allow advisers and investors to manage a wide range of investment products and superannuation accounts in one convenient place. AMP’s North platform is designed to simplify the investment journey by providing intuitive digital experiences, robust risk management and regulatory compliance. The Platforms business unit is experiencing an exciting period of growth and is central to AMP’s purpose of helping people invest in their future and retire with confidence. Purpose of the role: The role involves the provision of legal advice to AMP’s Platform business, primarily in matters relating to the ongoing operation and management of superannuation wrap products, IDPS and IDPS-like products, managed investment schemes, managed portfolios and the distribution of these products to retail customers (primarily through advisers). This includes product development initiatives, other strategic initiatives, marketing and distribution, regulation, offer documents, supporting Boards, advice on errors and incidents, platform development initiatives and rationalisation of legacy product offerings How will you make an impact Provide advice on legal and regulatory matters for AMP’s super and non-super wrap platforms, including product development, platform structures and investment offerings. Review regulated documents (e.g., PDSs, IDPS Guides, TMDs), marketing materials and client communications. Provide legal input on operational issues, platform systems and financial services regulatory changes. Manage legal risks, incidents, regulatory notifications and oversee external legal counsel as needed. Provide advice relating to identified errors and incidents, including notifications to ASIC, APRA, OAIC, AUSTRAC and investor remediation Manage the potential conflicts of interest within AMP’s business and ensuring appropriate consideration/advice is given as conflicts arise (such as ensuring separate legal representation is obtained for different AMP entities if necessary) Provide advice and support to Boards. What you will bring to the role Minimum 15 years’ post-admission experience in financial services law Deep knowledge of superannuation and investment platform regulation Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
