Job Description We are seeking a skilled DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to join a growing team. This hybrid role combines the best of DevOps and SRE practices, with a focus on automating and streamlining software delivery, ensuring system reliability, and bridging the gap between development and operations. You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines, manage infrastructure as code, and develop automated testing, monitoring and alerting systems. The role also involves troubleshooting, security, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to continuously improve performance and stability. Key Responsibilities Automation & CI/CD: Design, implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test and deployment processes Infrastructure as Code: Use tools such as Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure consistently and repeatably Containerisation & Orchestration: Build, deploy and manage scalable applications using Docker and Kubernetes Monitoring & Alerting: Implement and maintain monitoring systems (e.g., ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure system health System Reliability: Drive reliability, scalability and performance of large-scale applications, including incident response and root cause analysis Security & Compliance: Ensure systems meet Defence security, privacy and compliance requirements Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to embed reliability and DevOps best practices Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues to maintain high system uptime Disaster Recovery: Maintain and improve disaster recovery and business continuity strategies Deployment & Operations: Perform release procedures using automation where possible, ensuring systems remain operational; may involve travel to physical sites for management terminal access Required Skills and Qualifications Proven experience in DevOps and/or SRE roles Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OpenShift) Strong experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) Solid understanding of Linux/Unix system administration Knowledge of monitoring tools (Kibana, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Prometheus, Grafana) Strong problem-solving and communication skills Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams Desirable Skills Exposure to Defence or government environments Familiarity with emerging technologies and secure infrastructure integration Industry certifications in cloud, DevOps or SRE practices Employment Benefits Interesting and rewarding work Positive and supportive culture 37.5 hour working week with flexible work arrangements and work-life balance Support for your professional development Attractive remuneration Relocation support if you live interstate At Cleared Recruitment, we provide tailored recruitment solutions to individuals with a background in ICT, Engineering, Cyber and Project Services, who are seeking their next opportunity within Defence Industry, Federal Government, Intelligence and National Security.
