Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital The St John of God Bunbury Allied Health department is a diverse and welcoming team who go above and beyond to provide high quality care to our patients from many walks of life. We are seeking Casual and a Full Time Fixed Term Grade 1 Occupational Therapist to work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical occupational therapy services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. The hospital offers a broad range of Occupational Therapy (OT) services to our inpatients such as acute medical care, palliative care and pre & post-surgical care. As a Grade 1 Occupational Therapist, you will have access to strong mentoring, peer support and pathways for professional development. A 12-month full-time, fixed term position and Casual positions are available The Position Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients/patients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and outpatients. Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required). Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals. Coordinate the provision of special aids and equipment requirements of patients if required to assist with functioning Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division as appropriate. Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation. Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required. Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the service and for Divisional caregivers. Participate in other activities as assigned. Supervise, instruct and assess students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager. You will hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). To succeed you will have demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and evaluation within Occupational Therapy practice. You will have effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to communicate using technology). A current C Class Drivers' Licence is essential.
