The Company Robert Half is partnering exclusively with Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) to appoint a Head of Information Technology at a pivotal stage of modernisation. Established in 2009 through the merger of Queensland's two leading turf clubs, BRC is a member-owned, not-for-profit with over 160 years of racing heritage and a diversified commercial focus. The Club operates a fast-evolving portfolio and is investing in technology to drive efficiency, insight, and experience. The Role Reporting to the CFO, the Head of IT will lead technology operations and uplift infrastructure, systems, and digital capability. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role with accountability for reliability, vendor performance, and team development, while setting the roadmap for long-term improvement. You'll balance operational delivery with executive engagement across a complex, multi-site environment. Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational leadership across infrastructure, systems, and service delivery. Lead and develop the IT team, building capability, accountability, and a service-focused culture. Deliver a pragmatic multi-year IT roadmap aligned to priorities, efficiency, and risk reduction. Oversee core business systems to ensure integration, reliability, and scalability. Strengthen governance and cybersecurity, embedding Essential Eight alignment and modern risk management. Manage key technology vendors and partners with clear SLAs, measurable performance, and commercial value. Drive improvement initiatives, including uplift of data, BI, and reporting capability. Partner with the CFO, Executive Team, and Board to translate technical strategy into business outcomes and investment priorities. Requirements Leadership experience heading IT functions in complex, multi-site organisations. Balance of strategic direction and operational delivery. Proven success in vendor management, contract negotiation, and third-party governance. Cybersecurity capability with exposure to Essential Eight or similar frameworks. Experience delivering ERP, SaaS, or POS transformations. Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to prioritise investments and demonstrate ROI.
