About the role Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our 7 East Medical Unit on a maximum term part-time contract (8/12/25 – 25/1/26), 32 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your advanced clinical skills within a specialised 21-bed inpatient unit providing acute and subacute care in geriatric medicine and gastroenterology. You’ll be part of a dedicated team delivering holistic, patient-centred care that promotes dignity, recovery, and wellbeing. Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing As a Clinical Nurse in 7 East, you’ll take on a key leadership role, coordinating and delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care. You will: Provide advanced clinical assessment, intervention, and care coordination for patients with complex needs. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support seamless care delivery across geriatric and gastroenterology specialties. Mentor and guide junior staff, promoting professional growth and excellence in clinical practice. Lead quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and foster a culture of safety and compassion. About you You’re a motivated and adaptable nursing professional who thrives in a dynamic, team-focused environment. You’ll bring: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse. Minimum three years’ experience in an acute or medical specialty area (geriatric or gastroenterology experience highly regarded). Demonstrated clinical leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and guide a nursing team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across disciplines.
