The Opportunity The Systems and Applications Architect will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide systems and applications for a greenfield business establishment. The Architect will play a pivotal role in ensuring the technology ecosystem is scalable, secure, robust, and aligned with the strategic goals of the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker, a hands-on problem solver, and a collaborative leader who can work with business stakeholders, developers, and vendors to deliver modern, integrated solutions. Key responsibilities: Design the overall systems and application architecture aligned with business goals and industry standards. Develop a comprehensive and cost effective roadmap for the implementation of all required business systems, including ERP and supporting systems for Maintenance, Safety, and Financials. Ensure the technology ecosystem supports scalability, performance, and compatibility to meet future business needs. Lead the evaluation and selection of systems and applications, ensuring they meet functional, financial, technical, and user requirements. Define application and system integration strategies, ensuring seamless integration between ERP systems, asset management, CMMS, and other critical systems. Incorporate modern architectural approaches (e.g., microservices, APIs, cloud-native solutions) where appropriate. Provide design oversight for database architectures and application workflows. Define and optimise core business processes for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Plant and Fleet Management, and related systems. Identify automation opportunities and support IT and business teams in implementing streamlined workflows Create a sustainable framework for long-term system support, maintenance, and updates. Develop documentation, training materials, and knowledge transition plans for IT and business teams Ideal attributes The following Ideal attributes are highly desired, but if you do not tick all the boxes, you could still be a great fit. Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or similar technical disciplines Experience in similar role within industries reliant on asset-heavy operations, such as manufacturing, utilities, or construction, is highly desirable. Familiarity with digital transformation projects and change management. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle ERP, Microsoft Dynamics). Experience with CMMS software (e.g., IBM Maximo, Infor EAM) and asset management platforms. Familiarity with safety and compliance software ecosystems. Proficiency in database management systems, data warehousing, and reporting tools. Knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their respective integrations.
