Job Description As a Psychiatrist within the team providing these services to the Immigration Detention network, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in a diverse and complex healthcare environment, supported by a strong multidisciplinary team and robust clinical governance framework. This permanent part-time (0.7 FTE) telehealth role offers the opportunity to provide psychiatric services across multiple detention sites, primarily in WA and SA , supported by our multidisciplinary Virtual Care Centre team. You can be based anywhere in Australia , with the flexibility to work to the operating hours of the state you’re supporting on any given day. Flexible arrangements or a shared coverage model between two psychiatrists will be considered for the right candidates. In this role, you’ll: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate treatment plans via telehealth. Diagnose and manage a range of mental health conditions using evidence-based approaches. Provide clinical advice and support to on-site and virtual health teams and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and care planning. Deliver culturally competent and trauma-informed care for a diverse detainee population. Contribute to education, quality improvement, and service development initiatives. Let’s talk about you! As a Psychiatrist with FRANZCP Fellowship (or equivalent) any experience in telehealth psychiatry and or providing psychiatric assessment and treatment in complex or custodial settings will be highly desirable.
