About the Role We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of L&D to lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of professional and academic development programs. Reporting to the Director, Culture, Capability and Belonging, this role plays a key part in lifting capability, supporting career growth and fostering leadership at all levels. You will oversee the operational delivery of high-quality learning programs spanning research, teaching, leadership, professional skills and digital enablement, ensuring they are aligned with organisational strategy and evolving staff needs. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders, academic stakeholders and People & Culture partners to support an engaging, values-led learning culture. Key Responsibilities Plan, design and deliver integrated development programs for academic and professional staff aligned to capability frameworks and workforce priorities; Conduct learning needs analyses and use data to inform program design, delivery and evaluation; Develop inclusive, high-impact learning content and resources using best-practice adult learning and digital education principles; Lead a team of Learning & Development professionals and manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external facilitators and learning vendors; Oversee learning systems, processes and reporting to ensure smooth program delivery and visibility of outcomes; Implement evaluation methods to measure engagement, impact and learning outcomes, supporting continuous improvement; Support broader People & Culture initiatives such as capability frameworks, performance development and succession planning; and Promote values of inclusion, integrity, wellbeing, and excellence, and ensure compliance with WHS standards and policies. About You, Skills & Experience Essential Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development or a related field; Demonstrated success in designing and delivering professional and academic development programs aligned to strategic goals; Strong understanding of adult learning principles, digital learning tools, e-learning platforms and blended learning methodologies; Proven ability to conduct learning needs analysis and design high-quality learning resources supported by data and insights; Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse groups; Experience leading teams and managing external providers to achieve successful learning outcomes; and Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and safe work practices. The ideal candidate will have a background in Organisational Development or generalist HR, with a recent focus on Learning and Development, or be a dedicated L&D specialist experienced in delivering complex programs across varying levels of maturity within matrixed organisations.
